Volunteers will work approximately between 4-6 hours per day.
The tasks for a volunteer within this project is flexible; you can have your own ideas on how you would like to conduct your volunteer period. Any form of help is appreciated, you can develop new methods, and your suggestions will be welcomed with open arms. Remember it’s your own imagination and creativity that will determine how much you learn and contribute during your volunteer programme.

Your Everyday Life
Accommodation and Food
All volunteers will be accommodated in local Argentinian host families. You would have two meals, breakfast and dinner, with the family every day. Argentinian food can be fun and you can also try your hand on cooking if you want a change and invite the family to do the same!
During the Spanish course, our volunteers will stay with a host family near the Spanish school. Later, when starting with the program, the participant may stay in the same accommodation or sometimes move to a homestay close to the location of the host company. Please, keep in mind that some placements are located in suburban areas so that you may have to move there. Volunteers may share the room with other volunteers of the same sex.
Upon arrival in Cordoba you will meet our local partners at the airport. Classes in the 1-week included Spanish course start on a Monday immediately after the arrival. After finished Spanish course our local partner will give you an introduction on your code of conduct for your time as a volunteer. You will receive information about your volunteer location and what you are expected to do, family housing, about Latin American culture, about personal safety and more. After this you are ready to start your volunteering programme!
In your free time you could explore the surroundings on your own or simply just relax and enjoy life. Villa Allende is a small city located only 20 minutes by bus from Córdoba City, the second largest city in Argentina which can offer a vibrant cultural scene. In spite of this, the village of Villa Allende has managed to keep their own style. In Villa Allende you can still find rest and peace within a beautiful natural landscape. Due to the proximity to the mountains, the city is the perfect place to stay when preparing excursions in the natural beauty of the “Sierras Chicas”, or even in the “Pampas”, just 50 km to the South. People are very friendly and you will soon feel at home in this place. During the summer months, Villa Allende welcomes tourists from all over Argentina. During February, the “Festival de la Solidaridad” takes place. This event is one of the most important musical happenings of Argentina.
In order to guarantee the success of our volunteering program, our partner include a 1-week Spanish course at their specialized Spanish school in Córdoba city, Argentina. Volunteers with no previous knowledge of Spanish are recommended to take a minimum of two extra weeks of Spanish immersion course, within group classes of 20 hours every week, so they can reach an intermediate level of Spanish.
This amazing country offers astonishing nature, consisting of everything from mountains to djungles and giant flat lands. Argentina is also home of the well-known tango dancing, it offers outstanding culinarily and of course this is also a place to visit for soccer devoted people. Back in the days Argentina was one of the wealthiest contries in the world, which you will notice in all beautiful artitechtural buildings still present in the cities, but later on the economy has fallen drastically and today there are unfortunately many Agrentinians living a tough life without enough support from social safety nets. As a volunteer you can make real difference for Argentinian people’s every day life.
Flight tickets are not included in the tour price. You can book your tickets from any local travel agency of your choice. Your ticket must be booked so that you arrive in Córdoba on the day before the project starts, i.e on a Sunday. Your last day is on Friday, after the number of weeks you have chosen to work as a volunteer. If you want to go home right after the end of the project, you should book a trip home for the next day, i.e., Saturday, or Sunday. Be sure to check the arrival and departure dates on your ticket.
